A Thank You from Lifetouch!

Does your school use Lifetouch for their school pictures?  Well ours does, and I never buy pictures, for a couple of reasons.  One, they cost way too much!  Two, I never like the way they come out!  And three, I can do it myself, make them look professional, and spend a fraction of the cost.

Now that my rant is out of the way, something pretty awesome that they did this year was to provide a thank you to their customers.  Even if you did not order pictures, they sent a proof sheet home for you to review.  If you did order, than you obviously received your pictures.  The cool part - inside the envelope with either the proof sheet or the pictures was a thank you.

A promo code to enjoy $20 off an order of $20 or more at shutterfly.com.  How awesome is that?  And now I have $80 worth (4 kiddos) of Christmas presents to make!!  And to think I almost threw them all away!

Now, go be creative!

A trip to Walmart..Doesn't happen to often any more.

Well, I don't visit Walmart to often anymore, but I made a trip with baby boy today.  We got a lot for the amount we paid and overall, it was a good tip.   Mainly because for the first time, I did not have to argue with the cashier over their coupon policy.

A lot, right?  10 bottles of soda, a bag of cheese, apples, pepperoni, juice boxes, bread, Tide, french fries, 3 bags of carrots.  Retail : $36.96, after coupons, I paid: $13.62.  A savings of $23.34, or 63%.

How did I do it?  Some was from in-store specials, like I saved a dollar on the apples.  The 8 bottles of Dr. Pepper were free from a coupon, "Try Dr. Pepper TEN for free"  SS 10/9 or 10/16.  The rest came from the fabulous savings from the $2/1 Tide product from P&G 10/30.  Since Walmart gives you the full coupon value, I bought the smallest Tide possible (travel size $.97 each) and the additional $1.03 was taken off my total purchase.

I love how baby boy is eyeing up the soda in the background!  Really he was begging for an "pap-ple"!

A day of retail therapy...

Now that all of the craziness of Halloween is over, a much needed day of retail therapy was in store.  So, baby boy monkey and I headed out for a day of shopping.

Stop #1 - Rite Aid of course.  Not much excited me in their add this week, so I only bought some shampoo.

Herbal Essences or Aussie Shampoo, Conditioner, or Stylers $2.99
Buy 1, Receive $1.00 +Up Reward
$1.00/1  Herbal Essence or Aussie product from PG 10/30
Pay $1.99, Receive $1.00 +Up Reward
Final Price:  $0.99
Pantene Shampoo, Conditioner, or Stylers $3.50
Buy 2, Receive $2.00 +Up Reward
Or $1.00/2 Pantene products from PG 10/2
Use $3.00/2 Pantene products, excludes trial size from RP 9/25
Or $3.00/2 Pantene products, excludes trial size from RP 10/30
Pay $6.00, Receive $2.00 +Up Reward
Final Price:  $2.00 each when you buy 2

So, retail cost was $20.16, sale price $12.98, less coupons $3 + tax  = OOP $10.16, but I had an UPR for $7 from last week, which brings my total to 3.16, the I received $4 in UPR, so it was like they paid me $.84 for shampoo!!

Stop # 2 - Fashion Bug - I love Fashion Bug, but I love their coupons more.  So, I bought a much needed pair of brown dress pants, a new pair of jeans, 2 tank tops to go under my awesome sweater collection, and funky new ring.  Total retail cost $112.96.  But Fashion Bug was having an awesome 30% off everything sale today and I had two coupons for $10 off a purchase of $25.

So when it was all said and done, for over $100 worth of merchandise, I paid $43.34.  A savings of $69.62.  That is a 62% savings!

Stop #3 - JC Penney - I originally went in looking for dress shirts for my hubby, but I didn't see anything worthwhile, so, when in doubt, shop for yourself.  On the clearance rack of course.

So, I found these four shirts.  A total retail value of $128.00.  They were marked down on the clearance rack to $2.97 each.  That brought my bill to a whopping $11.88.  BUT WAIT!  I had a great coupon that was $10 off any purchase of $10 or more. (That is like the golden ticket of couponing!!!)  So I paid, drum roll please.......... $1.88 for 4 shirts, or .47 each.  Wowza, what a great deal and a $126.12 savings, that's 99%!!

So, now that my retail therapy is done for the week, it is time to start focusing on great deals for a huge Thanksgiving feast!

Happy shopping!

So, I verified with Giant Eagle...

So, after reading a lot of other blogs about the new coupon policy, I decided to email Giant Eagle (again) to try to receive some clarification on these matters.  I had read on some blogs that you could still stack a GE ecoupon with a manufacturer's coupon and I still wanted to know why only 2 "like" internet printed coupons.  So I emailed them and asked them those two questions.  This is the response that I received:

  Response:
  At  10/12/11 09:17:12  we wrote:
  10/12/11 09:17:12 (mrchmzk):
  Good morning Ms. Lybarger

Thank you for contacting Giant Eagle regarding our coupon policies.  Yes,
it is consider stacking when using an e-offer and manufactures coupon.
The e-offer would be deducted before a manufactures coupon, please remove
any e-offer you do not want, to be able to use your manufactures coupon.
We felt 2 internet coupons would a fair amount.

If you have any other questions or comments please call us at

  Thank you,

So, there you have it.  It is NOT acceptable to stack ecoupons and manufacturer's coupons.  And I still do not have a real answer to the 2 internet coupon limit.

Have a great day and happy shopping!!!

New Coupon Policy at Giant Eagle!!!

Well, I knew it would be coming, and it has finally happened.  Giant Eagle has a new coupon policy and you can see it here.  The policy is still mostly the same but with three major changes:

1)  One coupon per item(s) purchased as stated on the coupon with a maximum of 12 coupons per same 12 items purchased in a 24-hour period per Giant Eagle Advantage Card® customer.

2)  Stacking (combining electronic and paper coupons) of manufacturers’ coupons is prohibited.

3)  A maximum of two “like” coupons will be accepted.

Changes one and two, I am okay with.  With change one, it might actually be possible to walk into the health and beauty department and actually be able to find the things that are on sale.  With change number two, this was an eventual thing that everyone saw coming, especially since GE doubles coupons.  This was a lot of money they were eating, because let's face it, stacking coupons at GE usually made a free item, so they were eating the cost of their e-coupon plus the cost of the doubled manufacturer's coupon.  But please note, if you have ecoupons on your Advantage Card, they will automatically use those first and not accept any manufacturer's coupon for that item.  So my advice is to clear all the ecoupons from your card and add them the day of your shopping trip if it makes for a good deal.  It has been my experience that a manufacturer's coupon is always better than a ecoupon there (on most items) because they will double the manufacturer's coupon and not the ecoupon.

Change three, I am completely annoyed with.  Internet coupons are still manufacturer's coupons, should I not be able to use 12 just like the others.  I am not saying that I have twelve of each, but I do sometimes have six if I feel like hooking up the laptop.  This rule is just crazy to me and I am awaiting an answer to an email I sent asking why this change.

So double check your shopping lists for GE and make sure you checking for the best value between manufacturer's and ecoupons.  And as always, happy shopping!

Surprise bonus in buying CG at Rite Aid! But only if you have a Taylor Swift fan!

So, maybe I was out of the loop on this, but I was extra excited yesterday when reviewing my Rite Aid Receipts.  After buying (well, getting for free) all that awesome Cover Girl make-up at Rite Aid yesterday, on the bottom of my receipt printed promotional codes for a chance to win Taylor Swift tickets or redeem for merchandise.  So, of course I knew I would never win tickets, but I thought I would check it out since my twinners (especially Sue) LOOOOVE Taylor Swift.  My thoughts were I will have to pay for shipping and handling and/or you will need an outrageous amount of points to redeem anything.  Boy, was I wrong.  For every item I purchased yesterday, I received 10 points.  After typing in all of my codes yesterday, I obtained 240 points.  I was able to redeem sooooo much stuff and not pay anything (not even shipping)!!!!  I got 2 t-shirts, 3 bracelets, 3 journals, and a poster.  These items are going to make an awesome Taylor Swift Christmas present under the tree for each of my girlies!!

So, the Sales Associate at Rite Aid was not a happy camper this morning...

Okay, so I totally ROCKED Rite Aid this morning!  What an awesome ad this week (paired with awesome coupons, of course)!!! Everything that I purchased today can be found in my previous post including all the links for any internet coupons!

So here is what I bought today:

The above included all of this Cover Girl make-up, which was all absolutely FREE for me today!!

It took me 4 transactions and Nancy, the sales associate, wasn't too pleased with me when it was all said and done, and I think that a guy may have left the store because he was waiting too long.  And I think that Nancy was also a little upset because I told the lady behind me that she should see if she had the awesome Cover Girl coupon because then her make-up would be free!  So she left her stuff on the counter, and went to her car to find the coupon!  :o)  I was pleased I was saving the girl $8, Nancy was not pleased.  Ha!

Here's the breakdown:

Transaction #1:
1 Scope Mouthwash, 1 Pert Plus Shampoo, 2 CG Shimmer Lip Gloss, 4 CG Concealer, 2 CG Eye Shadows.

Total Retail - $54.80 - $36.50 in coupons - $6.00 UPR = $0.66 OOP and received $14.50 in UPR.

Transaction #2:
1 NoNonsense Tights, 2 Ricola Cough Drops, 4 Bubble Knee Highs, 2 CG Lip Shimmer, 4 CG Mascarea, 2 CG Eyeliner

Total Retail - $59.29 - $34.50 in coupons - $6.50 UPR = $1.81 OOP and received $3.00 in UPR.

Transaction #3:
2 Dove Hair Conditioner, 1 Colgate Sensative Toothpaste, 4 CG Lipsticks, 2 CG Eyeliners, 2 CG Blush

Total Retail - $59.79 - $38.50 in coupons - $4.00 UPR = $1.61 OOP and received $2.50 in UPR.

Transaction #4:
2 Gillette Body Washe, 1 Pumpkin Spice Candle

Total Retail - $11.58 - $4.00 in coupons - $2.50 UPR = $2.12 OOP and received $2.00 in UPR.

So, overall, I got merchandise with a retail cost of $185.46.  I paid $6.20 OOP, and left my final transaction with $12.00 in UPR.  So, in the reality we call couponing, Rite Aid paid me $5.80 to take almost $200 worth of merchandise!  Maybe Nancy was jealous, but that is what I call an awesome day!!!!!

Back with a bang!

So, I apologize for my lack of posting, but my life has been a little crazy the past month!  So I had an awesome shopping trip last Friday with baby boy, hitting up Giant Eagle and some great deals at Walmart before all of my P&G coupons for September expired.

I got sooo much for so little!  I won't go through and list everything, since there is so much, and since most of it I bought with coupons that have expired already, but I will give you the totals.

The total retail cost of all the merchandise above was $176.5.  I paid OOP $54.50.  A 69% savings!  An average of $0.63 an item!  Not too shabby consider the bag of cheese needed for pizza cost a little over $9.00 itself.

All in all, not a bad trip!

At Walmart, we did well, but we did not get paid!  :(

Thanks Krazy Coupon Lady

I'm back...and it feels great!!!!!

I'm back and better than ever! Well, not really better than ever, but I am still feeling awesome. Now that I am feeling that I got my game back, I loaded up Baby Boy and we headed to Giant Eagle this morning after we dropped the other 4 off at school! And we had an awesome time! We purchased $84.21 worth or groceries and paid $10.05. We also received a coupon for 70 bonus box tops for or elementary school (so if you get that coupon and won't use it, send it my way! :o) )!!!! Now most of my savings was due to the fact that I had coupons worth $11 off my next shopping order from some deals a few weeks back, but they are still some great savings this week:

Pepsi cubes are 4 for $20 (Don't want that many, Walmart will price match at $5 a cube!)

Totinos Pizza Rolls 10 for $1 - did you print the $.40 off 2 coupon from coupons.com
http://print.coupons.com/couponweb/Offers.aspx?pid=13903&nid=10&zid=xh20- if yes then thet are $.60 a box

Green Giant Boxed Vegetables -
http://www.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=MKRU3JAAR6CCY - this coupons gives you $.80 off four making them $.60 a box

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks are 5 for $10 - everyone has these coupons, right, they are in the paper like every other week, I bought 4 boxes today for $1.20 a box.

Buying 4 BC Fruit Roll Ups and 8 Totinos Pizza Rolls gave me the 12 items I needed to get the 70 box tops!

Other notes:

Oral B toothbrush $1.50 - $1.00 off 1 Oral B toothbrush in P&G makes them $.50

Kool Aid is 20 for $2.50 (great deal without a coupon)

These are the things that sparked my interest! Happy shopping!

August...need I say more

So, I want to apologize for not posting in a while, but for those of you that know me, know that August is like Christmas at our house multiplied by 1,000.  With 5 birthdays, a birthday party, back to school shopping, the first day of school, a week of vacation, etc, etc, etc, I have not had much time to post, or even shop for that matter.  I promise that I will updating you soon on awesome new deals and great savings.  Until then, enjoy what's left of summer!!  Happy shopping!!!!

Giant Eagle Cereal Deal

GE has a great deal on cereal right now (through tomorrow, so act quickly)!!  When you buy 4, 8, or 12 boxes of select cereals, you get bonus fuelperks.  Other than that, the ad was pretty stinky, in my opinion.  I bought 12 boxes of cereal, a box of Luigi Itialian Ice, and a box of Minute Maid juice bars.  So, total retail was $36.52.  After store savings, the total was $25.  After coupons, I paid $12.20.  That equals out to $0.87 an item.

But here is the thing I really want to make sure you know about.  Right now (through the end of the year) Kellogg's is offer a $10 prepaid Mastercard for a gasoline purchase when you buy 10 boxes of select cereals (must be 10oz boxes or larger).  But here is the great part---you only need to submit UPC labels, no receipts, so you can purchase them seperately.  However, if you really like Raisen Bran, that the GE cereal sale right now is perfect for this promotion.

Here's the link: http://www2.kelloggs.com/AARP/rewards/FIMSingle.pdf

You can only sumbit 1 rebate per envelope, but 5 total rebates per household.  So eat cereal and save up to $50 in gas!!

ALSO -- if you were lucky enough to get the $5/5 Kellogg's cereals printable last week, GE IS accepting this coupon this week (they have a policy that they will not accept a printable over $3, but they are making an acception)!!!!
