It's that time again...

Well, it's back to school time, for shopping that is.  It seems to get earlier and earlier every year, kind of like Christmas merchandise!  :)  Anyway, I wanted to share with you these nifty little things that I make the monkeys every year.  You have probably seen them before, but every year we make a homework box.  It's a box that has all the essentials for completing any homework assignment, super awesome-ly (if that's not a word, it should be!)!!!  And, they are super cheap to put together.

I bought all of the supplies today at Wal-Mart during one of their back to school sales.  It is a plastic pencil box that contains two pencils, a pink eraser, a glue stick, a box of 24 Crayola crayons, and 10 Crayola markers.  We place all of our "stuff" inside (each monkey got to choose their own color box) and I write each monkey's name on the front.  And TADA!!!; you have a homework box.

Here is the breakdown:  Pencil box $.57, glue stick $.20, eraser $.25, crayons $.40, markers $.97, and pencils free (we have quite a collection at home).  Total cost of the homework box $2.39!!!

  1. Great idea Dawn! I have something similar but ours is kind of general boxes. One with pencils and pens and one with glue sticks and scissors. But with only one in school right now I'm sure in the future general boxes won't fly!
